Chercheur en technologies électromagnétiques (H/F)
L’Institut franco-allemand de recherches de Saint-Louis (ISL), situé en France au cœur de la région des Trois Frontières, aux portes de l’Allemagne et de la Suisse, est un organisme de recherches reconnu au niveau international et fortement ancré dans un réseau scientifique et industriel global.
Nos axes de recherches mettent l’accent sur différents thèmes : aérodynamique, matériaux énergétiques et avancés, lasers et technologies électromagnétiques, protection, sécurité et conscience de la situation.
Notre champ d’activités va de la recherche fondamentale à la recherche tournée vers l’application.
Nous recherchons dès que possible un Chercheur en technologies électromagnétiques (H/F).
Vos missions / activités
- Expertise dans les domaines de l’électromagnétisme, de la forte puissance électrique, de la métrologie :
- Etudes théoriques
- Simulations numériques
- Conception, dimensionnement et dessin
- Expérimentation outdoor/indoor et instrumentation
- Traitement et interprétation des données
- Intégration de prototypes
- Recherche de partenariats européens : universités, organismes gouvernementaux, industriels
- Réponse à des appels d’offres gouvernementaux ou industriels, gestion de projets, soutien aux études internes à l’ISL
- Encadrement d’étudiants
- Développement de prototypes spécifiques dans le domaine de l’électromagnétique
- Participation à des séminaires, rédaction de publications scientifiques et conférences
Votre profil
- Vous êtes titulaire d’un doctorat dans le domaine de l’électromagnétique ou du génie électrique
- Vous êtes habilité secret défense
- Vous êtes titulaire de l’habilitation électrique haute tension
- Vous disposez d’une expérience reconnue dans les domaines suivants :
- Travail en laboratoire électrique (instrumentation, haute tension)
- Modélisation numérique
- Présentations scientifiques (conférences)
- Capacité à communiquer et à travailler en équipe, esprit d’initiative, sens de l’organisation et faculté d’adaptation
- Très bonne maîtrise de l’anglais. Des connaissances en allemand sont considérées comme un atout mais ne sont pas indispensables
Contrat proposé : CDD de 5 ans renouvelable en CDI.

Wissenschaftler (m/w/d) für elektromagnetische Technologien
Das Deutsch-Französische Forschungsinstitut Saint-Louis (ISL), im Dreiländereck Deutschland – Frankreich – Schweiz, ist eine international anerkannte und in einem globalen wissenschaftlich-industriellen Netzwerk verankerte Forschungseinrichtung. Unsere Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen auf verschiedenen sicherheits- und verteidigungsrelevanten Gebieten. Wir arbeiten sowohl im Bereich der Grundlagenforschung als auch anwendungsorientiert. Dabei gewinnt die Nutzung unserer Forschungsergebnisse auch für zivile Anwendungen zunehmend an Bedeutung.
Für unsere Gruppe ERG (Elektrische Beschleunigung) suchen wir zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt einen Wissenschaftler (m/w/d) für elektromagnetische Technologien.
Ihre Aufgaben:
- Expertise im Bereich Elektromagnetik, Hochleistungselektronik und Messtechnik:
o Untersuchung der theoretischen Grundlagen
o Numerische Simulationen
o Konstruktion, Konzept und Design
o Outdoor- und Indoorversuche, Messtechnik
o Datenverarbeitung- und Auswertung
o Integration von Prototypen - Aufbau und Betreuung von europäischen Partnerschaften mit Universitäten, Amtsstellen und im industriellen Bereich
- Beantwortung von öffentlichen oder industriellen Angebotsaufforderungen, Projektmanagement, Unterstützung bei den ISL-internen Studien
- Betreuung von Studierenden
- Entwicklung von spezifischen Prototypen im Bereich Elektromagnetik
- Teilnahme an Seminaren und Konferenzen, Erstellen von wissenschaftlichen Veröffentlichungen
Ihr Profil:
- Promotion im Bereich Elektromagnetik oder Elektrotechnik
- Kenntnisse und anerkannte Erfahrung auf folgenden Gebieten:
o Arbeit im Elektronik-Labor (Messtechnik, Hochspannung)
o Numerische Modellierung
o Wissenschaftliche Präsentationen (bei Konferenzen) - Sie zeichnen sich durch Kommunikations- und Teamfähigkeit, Eigeninitiative, organisatorische Fähigkeiten und Flexibilität aus
- Sie haben sehr gute Englischkenntnisse, Kenntnisse der französischen Sprache sind von Vorteil, aber kein Muss

For immediate placement, we are currently looking for a Research Scientist in Electromagnetic Technologies (m/f/d).
Your new tasks and responsibilities – challenging and future-oriented
- Expertise in the fields of electromagnetism, high power electrics and metrology:
- Theoretical studies
- Numeric simulations
- Conception, design, and engineering
- Outdoor / indoor testing and instrumentation
- Data processing and interpretation
- Prototype integration
- Actively seeking for cooperations with European partners: universities, government agencies, industries
- Responding to governmental or industrial calls for tenders, project management, support for internal studies at the ISL
- Supervising interns
- Developing specific electromagnetic prototypes
- Attending seminars, writing scientific publications and presentations
Your qualifications – solid and appropriate
- You hold a PhD in electromagnetics or electrical engineering
- You have recognised experience the following fields:
- Laboratory work in electricity (instrumentation, high voltage)
- Numerical modelling
- Scientific presentation (conferences)
- You have good communication skills: You like to work in a team, take initiatives, you are a good organiser adapting easily to new situations
- Very good command of English
- Good command of French and/or German would be considered as an advantage but is not mandatory
