Molecular design of nanostructured inorganic and hybrid materials

The methods of preparation of hybrid nanomaterials are designed to generate simultaneously in a same material both organic or biological components and inorganic matter in order to achieve true hybrids, organo-mineral nanocomposites.

In some cases the organic matter is also used intermediatly as a template to produce  nanostructured inorganic or hybrid porous networks. Such cross-cutting approaches where molecular engineering and ingenious processes are synergistically coupled allow the chemist to develop complex systems of various shapes with perfect mastery of different scales of size, composition, functionality and morphology.

The apprehension of complex hierarchical architectures involves transversal synthesis processes and demonstrates the crucial role of "Integrative Chemistry" in the field of advanced materials. Today, hybrid materials impact application areas as automotive, textile, packaging, construction and thermal and acoustic insulation, micro-optics and micro-electronic, environmental and medical sciences and cosmetics.

This conference will illustrate the different strategies for accessing nanostructured inorganic and hybrid materials. A focus will be made on the contribution of such chemistry in the design of new materials (sensors, catalysts, bioctalysts, carriers…) .
