Your new tasks and responsibilities – challenging and future-oriented:

The main task will consist in defining, designing and developing prototypes of new innovative concepts of long range guided projectiles, as part of ISL’s LRGP Project (Long Range Guided Projectile).

In coordination with your Group leader and the researchers responsible for the project, your main task will be to conduct two types of studies:

  • Mechanical and electro-mechanical studies linked to the project LRGP’s needs in order to design innovative systems for guidance and control of defined concepts as part of the project:
    • Research and development of innovative solutions
    • Supervision of acceleration resistance tests of actuators and mechanisms in the SIBREF
    • Conception of development tools in the laboratory and in the wind tunnel (low-speed and trisonic wind tunnel)
    • Supervision of free-flight tests of the prototypes
  • In cooperation with the engineering department:
    • You will take over studying and conceiving a rotating rig for wing sweeping tests
    • Studying the sweeping mechanisms of wings and conducting tests on a rotating rig
    • Contributing to the design and development of a projectile prototype with wings in order to conduct free flight test, first as ballistic tests, then with guidance

Besides this contribution to the LRGP project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the other projects within your scientific Group and Division.

Other duties:

  • Presenting your research work during scientific conferences
  • Writing scientific reports and publications at scientific conferences and peer-reviewed journals
