For immediate placement, we are currently looking for a Research scientist in theoretical, experimental and numerical flight mechanics (all genders).

 

Your new tasks and responsibilities - challenging and future-oriented:

  • Contribution to the testing of new concepts of guided or ballistic projectiles
  • Study and modeling a projectile motion during ballistic or guided flight
  • Designing and developing computation models for high-fidelity trajectories
  • Performance analysis: projectile’s behaviour and stability in flight, trajectory gauging system…
  • Expertise in external ballistics issues
  • Participation in research projects
  • Writing scientific publications and reports
  • Participation in congresses (presentation), scientific associations and expert committees
  • Supervision of the firing team during free flight testing
  • Presentation of results (internal and external conferences)
  • Developing partnerships with other research organisations and companies
  • Supervision of engineers, PhD students and interns

 

Your qualifications – solid and appropriate:

  • You hold a PhD in aerodynamics and flight mechanics and/or you are specialised in physics and/or solid mechanics
  • You have profound knowledge of measuring technique issues (especially in connection with aerodynamics and/or free flight) and scientific programming capacities would be considered as an advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge of flight mechanics and aerodynamics, as well as strong programming skills (MATLAB, Fortran, ...)
  • Good communication skills: You like to work in a team, take initiatives, are a good organizer adapting easily to new situations.
  • Very good command of English. A good command of French and/or German would be an advantage.
